Distinguished Visitors Day for “OLYMPIC COOPERATION – 24” Exercise

On Wednesday 20 November 2024, the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis and the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis attended the DV – Day for FTX “OLYMPIC COOPERATION – 24”, which was held in Petrohori Tank range in Xanthi. Sections of the XXV Armour Brigade (XXV Armour Brigade “2nd CAVALRY REGIMENT – EFESSOS”), the 1st Army Aviation Brigade (1st ARMY AVIATION BRIGADE “KILKIS – LAHANA) and two F-16 of the Hellenic Air Force participated in the Exercise.

FTX “OLYMPIC COOPERATION – 24” took place from 11 to 20 November 2024 and is a LIVEX/FTX (Live Exercise/Field Training Exercise), was organised by the Hellenic National Defence General Staff in the framework of strengthening international relations with partner and ally countries and included sections of the Armed Forces of Greece, Albania, Armenia, Austria, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Jordan, and Cyprus. The United Arab Emirates, Italy, India, and Saudi Arabia participated as observers.

During the Exercise, the participants had the opportunity to train in tactical level defence and offense scenarios, as well as in the execution of live fire, with the aim of improving operational readiness levels, combat capabilities, understanding, to exchange expertise, and interoperability among the participating forces.

  • The Commanding General of the 7th Armour Brigade, Brigadier General Phillipe Le Carff
  • Defence Attachés of Egypt, Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, France, and Jordan.
  • Representatives of Local Governments, Military Authorities, and accredited journalists.
