The M2 RCL CARL-GUSTAF 84mm anti-tank gun is a portable weapon for multiple uses, of Swedish origin. It is loaded from the rear, fired sideways and has no recoil, since the propulsion gases are released backwards.
The gun can be fired while standing, kneeling, sitting or from a prone position.
The gun’s main sighting instrument is a telescopic field glass, while the collapsible sighting instruments are auxiliary for the gun’s sighting.
The FAGOT anti-tank gun is of Russian manufacture and origin. It is a second generation anti-tank gun. It is directed through a wire. It can be used in all weather conditions and is not affected by electronic countermeasures.
The missile’s direction is semi-automatic and the signalling of corrective orders for the flight is conducted through a bimetallic wire which uncoils behind the missile.
The KORNET-E anti-tank system is of Russian origin. It is a heavy anti-tank third generation gun, mounted on HUMMER vehicles.
It is designated for engagement with modern and developed tanks, which are protected by active armour and for assault against lightly armoured material and fortifications. Furthermore, it can hit air targets flying at low altitude, such as hovering helicopters.
The missile of the KORNET-E system, monitored and directed semi-automatically, provides the capability of executing a well-aimed shot with the first missile.
The system provides the capability for fire from prone and kneeling position, as well as from the inside of an individual combat trench.
The MILAN anti-tank gun is a product of French-German collaboration. The missile’s system is manufactured by France and the launching system by Germany.
The MILAN is one of the second generation anti-tank guns, which means that it directs the projectile semi-automatically towards the target and the duty of the marksman is reduced to maintaining the cross-hairs of the sighting field glass on target, until the projectile hits.
The TOW anti-tank system is of American origin. It is a heavy anti-tank gun mounted on an Μ901 (ITV) vehicle.
It consists of a launcher, with monitoring and controlling capabilities from the projectile too, which is launched from the launch tube, monitored visually, directed through wires and placed inside a carrier.
It can be used under all weather conditions. It can also be used to hit fortified positions, bridges, pillboxes, fuel tanks and buildings.
The M901 Improved Tow Vehicle is of American manufacture and origin. It is an armoured personnel carrier and an alternate version of the Μ113 APC.
It carries a TOW 2 anti-tank gun and a 7,62mm machine gun.
It accommodates a crew of 2 and 3 passengers for the operation of the TOW.
