The academic education of the students of the Production Schools (PSU – SMY) includes subjects from the cycle of courses of the Higher Educational Institutions of the country. The academic programmes are developed in cooperation with prestigious educational institutions and include courses covering a wide range of subjects, including classical sciences, technology, political science and international relations. The emphasis on academic preparation is combined with practical training, enhancing the ability of cadres to face complex challenges in the military sector, contributing to social literacy – cultivation and smooth integration of Students into the professional and social environment.
Regarding the Academies
Academic education in the Military Schools represents the cornerstone of the professional orientation of the Army’s cadres. They offer high quality curricula, focused on both academic and military training. Students beyond the high level of academic education develop leadership skills to become competent leaders.

The students have the right to study, for a whole academic semester, in student exchange programmes (military Erasmus) abroad, aiming for:

The Engineering Laboratory for Intelligent and Distributed Systems of the Hellenic Army Academy (Evelpidon) is a top-ranking centre for Artificial Intelligence (AI) research, robotics, development of software and cognitive security in cyberspace. Its exceptional team focuses on the development of applied software solutions, which are exquisitely integrated with artificial intelligence systems for performance improvement, especially in its critical fields.

The Army members are provided with the capability, after authorisation by the service, to take part in placement exams for Supreme Education Institutions, domestically and abroad, so as to acquire a Master’s degree.
Moreover, there is the opportunity, with the cost being covered by the service, for students to study abroad in Supreme Education Institutions, such as:
- National Defence University/Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy in Washington
- Army War College/IFA in Washington
- National Defence College (NADEFCOL) in Rome
- Supreme Command Studies Course – BALDEFCOL in Estonia
- Joint War College of France (Ecole de Guerre) in Paris
