On Saturday, August 15, 2026, the celebration of the Dormition of the Theotokos took place at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Soumela on Mount Vermio in Imathia. The event was honoured by the presence of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr Konstantinos Tasoulas, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis (representing the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis) and the Commanding General of the Supreme Military Command of Epirus and Macedonia/NRDC-GR (“Alexander the Great”), Lieutenant General Grigorios Boudliakis.
