The Celebration Event for the 80th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Signals Arm took place on the premises of the Signals School, at “KARAISKAKIS” Camp, in Chaidari – Attica, on Sunday 17 May 2026, in the presence of the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, as representative of the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff General Dimitrios Choupis.

The event included, among other things, a Memorial Service for the fallen members of the Signals, wreath-laying, demonstration of modern communication assets and exhibits of the Signals museum, as well as a screening of the anniversary documentary titled “80 years of Signals”. Following that, the most senior Officer of Signals, Lieutenant General (ret.) Georgios Polymeropoulos, was awarded.

Other attendees to the event were the Mayor of Chaidari Mr Michail Selekos, His Eminence the Metropolitan Bishop of Nikaia Mr Alexios, Members of the Supreme Military Council, the Vice-Regional Governor of the Athens Western Sector Mr Charalambos Alexandratos, representatives of the Local Self-government and Church Authorities, active and retired officers of the Armed and Security Forces and other guests.
