From 31 March to 02 April 2026 the Land Forces Commander of Egypt, Major General Sherif Gouda El-Araishy, paid an official visit to our country, following an invitation from the Chief HAGS, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis.
On Wednesday 01 April 2026, in the framework of the visit, the Chief HAGS received him at Camp “PAPAGOU”. During a very amicable meeting, the strengthening of the bonds of the two Armies was discussed, through the increase of bilateral military cooperation actions.
Subsequently, he visited the Hellenic Military Academy in Vari, Attica, where he was briefed on the Academy’s work, toured its grounds, and was given a tour of its Museum. Subsequently, he visited the HNDGS/Hellenic Research Technological Development and Innovation Centre (KETAK), where he was briefed on its work and mission, toured the Artificial Intelligence and Design Labs, and attended a static display of unmanned systems.
On Thursday 02 April 2026, he visited Camp “VARYTI” Indoor Pistol Firing Range, where he attended a static display of weaponry and assets of HNDGS Special Warfare Command Units. Subsequently, he visited the Signals School in Chaidari, Attica, where he attended a demonstration of UAV Systems and a UAV operator simulator.
Finally, he visited the Special Forces Training Centre in Nea Peramos, Attica, where a free diving demonstration was performed by divers in the combat swimming pool.
