On Friday 12 December 2025, in the presence of the Chief/HAGS, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, an event for the 50th anniversary of the NCO Academy in Trikala took place.
The event initially included speeches, audiovisual material devoted to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the NCO Academy in Trikala, a review of historic events during the 1975-2025 period and the award of commemorative gifts to all contributors to the event, at the Cultural Centre of the Municipality of Trikala “Athanasios Trigonis”, followed by a presentation of the training activities of the Academy at the city centre of Trikala, including drills by the Demonstration Platoon, water obstacle crossing by students of the Litheos river, as well as demonstration of modern fighter equipment.
Finally, the event included an exhibition of objects and photographic footage of the Academy’s long history, hosted in a special area.
The event was attended by the Minister of Digital Governance Mr. Dimitrios Papastergiou, the Head of the Region of Thessaly Mr. Dimitrios Kouretas, the Mayor of Trikala Mr. Nikolaos Sakkas, the Metropolitan of Stages and Meteora Theoklitos, the Metropolitan of Trikki, Gardikio and Pyli Chrysostomos, the Honorary Chief/Cypriot National Guard General Staff, Lieutenant General Ilias Leontaris (ret.), the Honorary Chief/Cypriot National Guard General Staff Dimokritos Zervakis (ret.), the Commanding General of the Hellenic First Army/EU-OHQ “ACHILLEAS”, Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos, Captain Vasileios Souflas HN, representing the Chief/HNGS Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras HN, Colonel (HAF) Ilias Katsioulas, representing the Chief/HAFGS Lieutenant General Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, the Deputy Head of Region for Trikala Ms Chrysa Dinti, the Director of the Trikala Police Directorate Brigadier General Dimitrios Mitrenas, Fire Lieutenant Colonel Ioannis Tatsinas, representing the Commander of the Fire Services of the Municipality of Trikala, Fire Colonel Ioannis Liapis, active duty and retired Officers of the Armed and Security Forces and other guests.
