On Friday 28 November 2025, in the presence of the Commanding General of the Supreme Military Command of Thrace “THRACE”, Lieutenant General Panagiotis Kavidopoulos, the final phase of the “PELTAST-25” Field Exercise was held at “AMBELONAS” Proving Ground in Komotini, with the participation of units and assets of the 29th Motorised Brigade “POGRADETS”.
The exercise aimed to train the personnel, the reservists, and the national guardsmen in realistic tactical scenarios, raising operational readiness and fighting ability, and promoting interoperability and a common operational perception under modern warfare conditions.
The “PELTAST-25” Field Exercise is a Small Scale Partial Forces Deployment National Exercise, (Live Exercise/Command Field Exercise) and included carrying out the elimination of enemy bridgeheads, as well as facing asymmetrical threats against vital national facilities.
The final phase of the exercise was observed by his Eminence the Metropolitan of Maroneia and Komotini Panteleimon, the Deputy Head of Region for the Regional Unit of Rodopi Mr. Emmanouil Tapantzas, the Deputy Commanding General of the Supreme Military Command of Thrace Lieutenant General Ioannis Kostoulas, the Commanding General of XII Mechanised Infantry Division “EVROS” Lieutenant General Konstantinos Gakis, the Commanding General of XX Armoured Division “MACEDONIA” Lieutenant General Ilias Kostakis, the President of the Higher Panhellenic Reserve Officers Association Mr. Filippos Kostaras, active and retired officers of the Armed and Security Forces.
