On Friday 15 August 2025, the feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos was celebrated at the Monastery of Panagia Soumela on Mt Vermio-Imathia, honoured by the presence of the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, representing the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff General Dimitrios Houpis, the Commanding General of Hellenic First Army/EU-ΟHQ “ACHILLES” Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos, and the Commanding General of C Army Corps/NRDC-GR Lieutenant General Athanassios Garinis .
