On Wednesday 15 January 2025, in the presence of the Chief/Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, as representative of the Chief/Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, the D Army Corps Change of Command Ceremony was held at “CAPTAIN EMMANOUIL APOSTOLIDIS” Camp in Xanthi, with Lieutenant General Panagiotis Kavidopoulos assuming command from Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos.

The ceremony was honoured by the presence of MP for Rodopi Mr Ferhat Ozgur, the Head of Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Mr Christodoulos Topsidis, Mayor of Xanthi Mr Eustratios Kontos, the Metropolitan of Xanthi and Perithori Mr Panteleimon, Members of the Holy Synod, Deputy Head of Region for the Regional Unit of Xanthi Ms Polyxeni Brika, Deputy Head of Region for the Regional Unit of Evros Mr Evangelos Poulilios, active and retired Officers, and other guests.
