On Thursday 16 January 2025, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr Giannis Kefalogiannnis, who was escorted by the Chief/Hellenic Army General Staff Georgios Kostidis, the Hellenic First Army/EU– ΟHQ “ACHILLES” Change of Command ceremony took place at “GENERAL NIKOLAOS PLASTIRAS” Camp in Larissa, with Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos assuming command from Lieutenant General Dimokritos Konstandakos.

The ceremony was honoured by the presence of MP for Larissa Mr Christos Kapetanos, Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos Mr Ieronymos, Deputy Head of Region for Health Mr Evangelos Apostolou, as representative of the Head of Region for Thessaly Mr Dimitrios Kouretas, Deputy Mayor Mr Konstantinos Kalampalikis, as representative of the Mayor of Larissa Mr Athanasios Mamakos, Commander of EUNAVFOR ASPIDES, Rear Admiral Vasilios Gryparis HN, as representative of the Chief/Hellenic Navy General Staff Vice Admiral Dimitrios – Eleftherios Kataras HN, the Chief/Hellenic Tactical Air Force, Lieutenant General Panagiotis Georgakopoulos, as representative of the Chief/Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Lieutenant General Dimosthenis Grigoriadis (Pilot), Honorary Chief/National Guard General Staff Lieutenant General Dimokritos Zervakis (ret.), the Commanding General of C Army Corps/NRDC-GR “ALEXANDER THE GREAT”, Lieutenant General Athanasios Garinis, the Commanding General of D Army Corps “THRACE”, Lieutenant General Panagiotis Kavidopoulos, active and retired Officers, and other guests.
