On Sunday, 03 June 2018, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, attended the annual memorial service in honour of the fallen raiders and members of the Sacred Band during the Nation’s struggles in the Mountain Commando Companies’ Monument in Kavouri, Attica.
The ceremony was first started by the founder of the Hellenic Special Forces, Major General Andreas Kallinskis, and takes place every year, organised by the Special Forces Directorate of HAGS.
The event was attended by Members of Parliament, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Kyriakos Kenevezos, the Mayor of Vari – Voula – Vouliagmeni, Mr. Grigoris Konstantellos, honorary Chiefs of Hellenic Army and Navy General Staff, the Protosynkellos of the Holy Metropolis of Glyfada – Elliniko – Vari – Voula – Vouliagmeni, Archimandrite Alexios Psoinos, veteran raiders and members of the Sacred Band, delegations, Retired Officer Associations, and crowds of people.
