During June 2018, in the context of its social contribution, the Army assisted in air evacuation operations, executing 27 missions, day and night, for the air evacuation of 32 patients from islands of the central and south-eastern Aegean Sea to hospitals of urban centres, using helicopters of the 1st Army Aviation Brigade.
The Army Aviation helicopters offer the above social contribution services on a daily basis, not decreasing in the slightest level their engagement in their multiple everyday activities (exercises, troop transportation, surveillance, reconnaissance, etc).
