From 24 June to 21 July 2018, the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) cadets conducted summer training in the “KANAPITSA” Proving Ground in Litohoro, aimed at providing them with the skills to survive outdoors, mentally and physically strengthening them, and improving their skills as small echelon leaders. Within the framework of jointness, they were joined for a week by cadets of the Hellenic Naval and Air Force Academies.
The training included individual tactics, fighter techniques, and a Squad-level day and night Field Exercise, while the cadets also trained on urban warfare in the National Urban Warfare Operations Centre of Excellence in Argyroupoli, Kilkis.
Furthermore, a military competition took place for the first time, comprising the following events: pistol and rifle fires, race carrying an injured person, rowing, obstacle course, and land navigation. Finally, on 12 July 2018, an 8 km race took place under the name “190 years of the Hellenic Military Academy” for the cadets of the Hellenic Military Academy and the Nursing Officer Academy, as well as the personnel of the Hellenic Military Academy and other Formations.
