On Wednesday, 09 January 2019, the cutting of the traditional Vasilopita for 2019 took place at the Hellenic Army General Staff.
The event, during which the Army Band of the Higher Army Support Military Command played music, was attended by the Alternate Minister of National Defence, Mr. Panagiotis Rigas, the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis HN, the President of the Union of Retired Army Officers, Lieutenant General (ret.) Vassilios Rozis, and military and civilian personnel of the Staff Directorates, Directorates, and Staff Entities of HAGS.
The event was also attended by a delegation of National Guardsmen from National Guard Units, as well as a delegation of Reserve Officers and Enlisted Soldiers, which proves the great importance laid by HAGS to the National Guard and Reserve institutions.
