On Tuesday, 23 July 2019, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas, visited the Headquarters of the XXIV Armoured Brigade “SYNTAGMA IPPIKOU FLORINA”, accompanied by the Commanding General of the XX Armoured Division “MAKEDONIA”, Major General Antonios Hatzigeorgiou, and the Commanding General of the Brigade, Brigadier General Ioannis Dimitrelos.
During his visit, the Chief was briefed on the current activities of the Formation, visited Units, addressed the enlisted and career personnel of the XXIV Armoured Brigade, and inspected the Formation’s readiness troops.
The Chief then visited the Training Ground in Kanapitsa, Litohoro, where the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) conducts its summer training, accompanied by the Academy Commandant, Major General Dimitrios Houpis. During his visit, he attended part of the annual three-day cadet training evaluation, which was redesigned to include innovative exercises designed to promote skills which will forge combat leaders capable of dealing with the challenges of the modern battlefield under great psychological pressure.
