Upon order of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff and the approval of the Ministry of National Defence, the Army provided assistance to areas affected by cyclone “Ianos” with personnel and assets as follows:

Karditsa

- 8 Engineer Officers and 34 Soldiers
- 2 Earthmovers
- 1 Loader
- 2 Excavators
- 1 Road Roller
- 1 Grader
- 1 Truck
- 2 Tractors
- 1 Forklift
- 1 Recovery Vehicle
- 3 30 ton Utility Vehicles

Furthermore, a Bailey bridge was constructed in the “Karaiskakis” area of the Municipality of Mouzaki, while the construction of another Bailey bridge is in progress in Anthohori village of the same Municipality.

Kefallinia Island

- 2 Officers and 10 Soldiers
- 2 Utility Vehicles
- 2 Earthmovers
- 2 Excavators
- 4 Machinery Transportation Tractors

Works took place mainly in the areas of Assos village and Aghia Euphemia and included excavations, removal and transportation of sediment to restore the road network and the water supply grid, as well as works to clear, widen, and deepen stream beds to facilitate water drainage and prevent flooding.
