Sunday, 28 April 2024, marked the culmination of the celebrations of the Municipality of the Sacred Town of Mesolonghi for the 198th anniversary of the Heroic Exodus of the Free Besieged, attended by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation, Ms. Christina Alexopoulou, who represented the Government, and the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, who represented the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis.

The events included a doxology at the Metropolitan Church of Saint Spyridon, officiated by his Eminence, the Metropolitan of Sisani and Siatista, Mr. Athanasios, together with his Eminence, the Metropolitan of Elassona, Mr. Chariton, and his Eminence, the Metropolitan of Aetolia and Akarnania, Mr. Damaskinos, as well as a procession from the church to the Garden of Heroes, where wreaths were laid at the Tomb of Heroes.

From 25 to 26 April 2024, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, visited the Area of Responsibility of the 88th Military Command “LIMNOS”, accompanied by the Commanding General of the High Command of Interior and Islands “AEGEAS”, Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou.

During his visit, the Chief was briefed on the Formation's mission and operational and training activities, and visited Units, military installations, and Surveillance Outposts.

The Chief gave a short address, provided guidelines to the Formation personnel, and congratulated them for their work.

From 23 to 26 April 2024, within the framework of instructions and guidelines provided by the Ministry of National Defence and the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, a delegation of Hellenic Army General Staff officers visited Finland, where they had meetings with Finnish Army officers.

During the visit, they discussed matters related to the Finnish conscription model, visited military installations, and attended training activities.

On Monday, 22 April 2024, the Commander of the 306th Telecommunications Base Plant, Colonel (Tech) Apostolos Konstantopoulos, and the Director and Chairman of the Board of the National Centre of Scientific Research "Demokritos”, Dr. Georgios Nounesis, signed an MoU between the Hellenic Army General Staff and the NCSR Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.

The main purpose of the MoU is to enhance scientific cooperation and provide mutual personnel education and training on each party's areas of specialisation. Specialised technology areas include sensors, photovoltaic systems with applications in defence, energy generation and storage, printed circuits, micro/nanoelectronic devices, and integrated circuits.
